UML urges govt to withdraw amendment bill
The standing committee meeting of the main opposition CPN (UML) today has drawn the attention of the government to withdraw the constitution amendment bill registered in the parliament and to go ahead to hold local poll in slated date forging political consensus.
The party publicity department chief Yogesh Bhattarai said that the meeting decided to intensify the talks with political parties to fail the bill as it was irrelevant and against the national interest.
The meeting has concluded that some force was plotting conspiracies to postpone the election but the party will concentrate its all efforts to make such conspiracies ineffective.
In the meeting discussions on selecting the candidacy from the party in various local levels were made.
On the occasion, party vice chair duo Asta Laxmi Shakya (coordinator of province no 3) and Yubaraj Gyawali (coordinator of province no 6) had presented progress report on election activities and party’s candidates in these provinces.Similarly, the meeting has decided to release its election manifesto at 3 pm, Sunday at party central office, Dhumrabarahi in the capital.
